2006 State Championships

Hyde Park Cycle Sports executed nearly flawless tactics in Saturday's road race, to both control the event, and ensure a top result. Matt Weyen rode a patient race in defense of teammate Justin Mayfield's long standing solo lead. When Mayfield was finally caught, several attacks made it obvious that this was a contest between Boise's top ride Calvin Allen (BoDE) and Weyen. With 500 meters to go Weyen lit it up taking a decisive victory in the State Championships Road Race.

2006 Cycling Classic

Living up to the hype, The Cycling Classic delivered a punishing course to those that dared to race it. To the locals the course is simple and painful; Five Dump Loops. For anyone that has done a Dump Loop, a route aptly named for it's traverse by the dump yard, it's common knowledge that this is no small accomplishment. Doing one is difficult enough, let alone 5, and furthermore to attempt it in extreme heat and under intense racing conditions is almost inhumane.

Other than the weather, it was more of the same in the final
stage of this year's Treasure Valley Stage Race. Sunday's criterium was
raced under dark and rainy skies, as opposed to the two days of dry and
sunny racing that had proceeded it, but just like the time trial it was
Hyde Park Cycle Sport's Matt Weyen taking 1st place.
