The annual trip up the 3500
vertical feet that is Bogus Basin Road once again wrapped up the Idaho
Racing Season and this year crowned a new champion. Close to 300
individuals clicked in at 9:30am for the 16-mile ascent that has been
a tradition for more than 30-years now.

Hyde Park Cycle Sports executed nearly flawless tactics in Saturday's road race, to both control the event, and ensure a top result. Matt Weyen rode a patient race in defense of teammate Justin Mayfield's long standing solo lead. When Mayfield was finally caught, several attacks made it obvious that this was a contest between Boise's top ride Calvin Allen (BoDE) and Weyen. With 500 meters to go Weyen lit it up taking a decisive victory in the State Championships Road Race.

Living up to the hype, The Cycling Classic delivered a punishing course to those that dared to race it. To the locals the course is simple and painful; Five Dump Loops. For anyone that has done a Dump Loop, a route aptly named for it's traverse by the dump yard, it's common knowledge that this is no small accomplishment. Doing one is difficult enough, let alone 5, and furthermore to attempt it in extreme heat and under intense racing conditions is almost inhumane.

Rob Campbell of Hyde Park Cycle Sports, pulled off an impressive 4th place in one of the nations premier criteriums this Saturday night. Conditions were brutally hot and for the first time the event was stretched to 90 minutes from the usual 60.

The countries oldest consecutive Stage Race was won by Chris Wherry on
Sunday. The best professional and amateur cyclists in the country came
to Bend, Oregon to compete in the Cascade Cycling Classic; The 6 stage
event came with 3 mountainous road races, no less than 80 miles each, a
7 mile time trial, a 90 minute critirium, and a challenging circuit race.
